WHAT TO EXPECT AND HELPFUL INFORMATION

Purpose:  

Our focus is to minister through the building of houses and giving hope. But the primary focus is ministry, so want to make sure we pray for people, engage and share love through what God’s doing.  

Things to bring:

• Work gloves
   
• Paint brush (if you have one/some)
   
• Work clothes
   
• Thermos/water bottle
   
• Hat

• non aerosol mosquito repelent
   
• Sunblock
   
• Personal items (shower towel, toothbrush, shampoo, etc.)
   

Weather:

The low is 67 and the high is 78 (bring a jacket based on your personal needs.

This is a mission trip and as such we are going to serve and may be stretched out of our comfort zone. Most buildings do not have AC. It is relatively cool at night so this should not be an issue. We ask people to be flexible as far as schedules, sleeping arrangements, etc. 

Do’s and Don'ts:

Do not drink alcohol or listen to secular music (we are only there for one week and there for ministry, so regardless of personal convictions, we ask that you refrain from alcohol and listen to Christian music only, while in the ministry house to create a conducive environment to the Holy Spirit.  

Do not walk around by yourself without the group, as we are in a foreign country.

KIDS MUST BE WITH ADULTS AT ALL TIMES!!!!!!! EACH PARENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILD BUT WE ALL NEED TO BE VIGILANT !!!!  

Do not drink any water other than bottled water

Do not flush toilet paper down the toilet, use trash cans.  

Do not waste water as it is limited (like an RV when its out and can take days to come back)

Do accept all food or drinks from the families whose homes you are building with a SMILE. It is extremely offensive to do otherwise.  

Do love people.

Do keep money in your front pocket or fanny pack, the same goes for phones (your phone represents a six-month salary for most people in Honduras).

Do download “WhatsApp” (almost all communication goes through this app).

*There is only one Diprova (grocery store) near the place we will be staying at. In case you get lost, any taxi driver can take you to the Diprova which is within walking distance from the ministry house*

*Covid test is required for entry. Consult with your airline. (If you are vaccinated, please bring your vaccination card and any other required documents according to the airline you are flying with).
