MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

• We like the quote “God does not call the qualified, but qualifies the called.” If you are a Christian, have a passion for fulfilling the Great Commission, are a faithful student of the Bible, regular church attendee, and are a “team player”, we invite you to be a part of our team.
• Our desire is to give those whom God is calling an opportunity to fulfill their part in the Great Commission no matter what gender, age, race, or social status.
• We accept applicants from all stages in their spiritual walk with Christ – from a new believer to a five-fold minister.

IS THERE ANY AGE OR OTHER RESTRICTIONS?

• There is no age limit. Those under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian.
• All applicants are required to fill out an application form and submit a letter of recommendation from their pastor or the spiritual authority they are submitted to in their life.
• All applicants must comply with and sign the BANAH statement of faith and practice.
• You will need a valid passport that does not expire within 6 months of the return date of the trip.

• Generally 8 days. 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST AND WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY? 

• Generally, the cost of your stay in the country including hotel accommodations, meals, ground transportation, translator services, and itinerary planning is $1800. (The price of the mission may vary depending on the location and length of the trip.)
• Please see our cancellation fee drop-down. 
• Not included are:

1. International airfare (our office can assist you with finding very reasonable tickets)
2. Entry Visa fee (if applicable)
3. Medical, trip, and/or travel insurance
4. Your personal expenses (souvenirs, phone calls, etc.) 

DOES BANAH FOUNDATION HELP YOU FUNDRAISE FOR YOUR TRIP? 

• We write a fundraising support letter template for each trip. It can be found on each trip’s information page under the fundraising section. It’s completely editable and you may use it however you’d like to get the word out about the opportunity you have to join this mission and how anyone who wants to can support you financially.
• With an approved application and $200 deposit you are given the ability to create your own fundraising dropdown on Givelify, on our website which can be easily shared in your letters, emails, and social media posts regarding fundraising for your mission trip. (See an example in the support letter section under mission trip info)

• God chose you because He has determined that your life experience, your gifts, and your story are going to be useful for this place and time.
• Your testimony is your most powerful tool. We all have many experiences in our lives of God’s favor, provision, deliverance, and rescue. These are our best tools to introduce someone to Jesus.
• Pray and seek God about which story you should share during the trip. You may not know all the people you will encounter on your journey but God does. He prepares divine appointments for us. If you consult Him in advance, He will help you be prepared.
• There is no official mission training provided or required to be completed before going on a trip.

WHO ARE MY FELLOW TEAM MEMBERS? 

• When you join BANAH FOUNDATION you don’t just join a missions team, you join a family.
• A powerful connection is formed between you and an entire network of people who are just as passionate about and committed to carrying out the Great Commission as you are.
• These people make up an invaluable support system and become life-long friends who will prove to put as much into you as you are willing to put into them.

• Generally, we stay in a hotel condo or Airbnb, In most cases you will room with one to 4 other team members of the same gender unless you are traveling with a child or grandchild of the opposite gender and would like to room together. You may pay an additional fee to request a private room. if available.

• Online– Anyone can make a donation toward your trip by going to banahfoundation.com/donate.  clicking on the “Donate” tab, and then clicking on the “Click to Donate” button,  which will take you to the Givelify website. There you can choose the donation amount and where it goes. Note: you must have an active application to receive funds directly on our page. 
• Anyone other than you or your spouse who makes a donation toward your trip will receive a tax-deductible receipt.

• Our staff is happy to assist you in finding a flight and coordinating your flight itinerary with other team members when possible. However, generally, the team members are responsible for booking their own international flights.

• No, each team member will fly out of his or her hub city and fly individually unless it’s requested and possible to coordinate their flight itinerary with another team member. In that case, it may be possible for team members to fly all or at least part of the way together.

• Approximately 4 weeks before the trip dates, all team members for the upcoming mission will receive this type of information by email.
