Honduras is the second poorest country in Latin America. The families we work with live in cardboard or plastic homes in most cases with no running water nor a bathroom. Most of our families have an average income of $200 per month when or if they can find work. These homes provide a safe, healthy, life-changing dwelling. We build new Caribbean style homes with concrete floors, four painted walls, and a roof to protect them from the elements for a cost of only $3500.00 USD.
To send a child to school, the cost of materials, clothes, supplies, and food is too much for many families. For many of these families, the choice is to send their children to school or have food for the week. When we provide the physical needs for school, we offer a life-changing opportunity through education. Our student support follows them from elementary to post-high school vocational or other training. All this for less than the price of a daily cup of coffee! Sponsor a child on your own or with a friend for only 60.00 monthly and change a life forever!
Through your generous support we bring much-needed food resources to those in need. When we provide food, we are providing hope and showing the compassion of Christ to those who need it most, in the local hospital, the city landfill where people actually live and scavenge, and in the street where the local runaway kids gather. In Honduras, low-income families work in the public landfill scavaging for materials to earn income. While they work in the landfill, they also live there. We bring much-needed food and resources to them.
